Ben Rivers deep, mountain high

Thursday, Manchester: in between 2 lectures I decided to run to the Whitworth gallery having been recommended this show by my friend, based on my current work in progress. Well I didn’t run and I got a bus back.
Actually named ‘The Two Eyes Are Not Brothers’, this work by Ben Rivers explores the act of storytelling through film and sound, and is shown within 4 immersive spaces built from discarded/used pieces of film sets. As my own work; a video to be shot in Chernobyl next week is intended to be projected onto an installation reminiscent of an interior wall, lifted by ones own imagination from the abandoned ghost city of Pripyat it seemed excellent research.
