Specialising in embroidery, print, and mixed-media, Claire makes dialogical work with a somewhat kitsch sensibility, revolving around themes of loss, love, memory, place and the value of those.

She contemporises historical textile craft, continuing its legacy and introducing it to new audiences, giving what is sometimes dismissed as domestic or hobbyist pastimes an extended value by placing it within contemporary art spaces. Drawing on connections and disconnection, close relationships and personal emotions Claire makes artworks that blur the boundaries of art, design and craft.

As a textile practitioner, she investigates the embroideries and everyday of an obsolescent community - the Babushkas of Chornobyl, sharing their traditional and regional textile history in order that their voices be heard and their stitched legacy preserved. By being selected as the Tees Valley Visual Artist of the Year 2024, her work has been validated and recognised as meaningful, engaging people on an emotional level.

As a prize-winning artist, maker and researcher she led the 26:86 Collective 2016-2019 [with exhibitions attracting 12,000+ visitors] and in 2024 completed her doctorate supported by an AHRC Studentship award. Her Red Thread exhibition shown at Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, 2021/2022 attracted over 14,000 visitors.
